Got what it takes?
Want a career in the arts & music business? Then come to Gig-Arts™. It’s a cross between a rock concert and a business seminar!
Abbie Cooke is co-founder of a dynamic new enterprise event called Gig-Arts™ which helps young artists, musicians and actors develop business and communication skills and 'give back' to the community. And it’s fun!
Gig-Arts™ is a 'free' event. Participants attend a series of enterprise workshops presented by Abbie, which culminate in a live Gig.
Benefits of Gig-Arts
Meet leading professionals in the arts and music business
Learn how to put a price on your talent
Get savvy and negotiate business deals
Gain business and communication skills
Find out how to get on TV and the radio
Gain real-life entrepreneurial experience in community arts projects
Gig on stage in front of a live audience
As a requirement, participants have 6 to 12 months to 'give back' to their local community by maybe giving a painting to a hospital or teaching music in a school. Afterwards, they write a short report on their community experiences and then attend an awards ceremony.
One participant said:
“I didn’t know what to expect but I was intrigued, I wanted to showcase my talent. Everyone came out of themselves when I thought they would be reserved and shy. It worked really well, we clicked and learnt a lot - it was brilliant!”
